Surprisingly, I didn’t select this one because it’s one of the best arena rock songs in the known universe. No, it’s because of this little piece of fan fiction.

Metal Tuesday- Gravity Kills – Guilty
You ever run across a CD (kids, ask your parents), pick it up, and go “Man, I loved this band when they first came out.†Then proceed to play the ever-loving hell out of it? Yeah, I may have stumbled back on Gravity Kills after a long hiatus.
Metal Tuesday- Avantasia – Avantasia
Avantasia is a solid performer in my book, and I’ve really been digging on this one.
Metal Tuesday- Amaranthe – Limitless
I love Amaranthe. I have been known to put their songs on repeat. This is the current ear worm of theirs.
Metal Tuesday- Nightwish – Edema Ruh
I love the two and a half installments of Patrick Rothfuss’s “Kingkiller Chronicles.†This is Nightwish’s tribute.
Metal Tuesday – Ghost – Year Zero
Yes, it’s another sporadic entry into Metal Tuesday. If you’re easily offended by satanic metal, what the hell are you doing on this blog?
Metal Tuesday- Iced Earth – Anthem
I’m using the tried and true selection methodology of whatever song has been running constantly in my head for the past week or so.
Metal Tuesday- Iron Saviour – Heavy Metal Hero
Iron Saviour (or Savior) is unusual in the power metal genre because instead of fantasy, the band uses science fiction for its themes.
Metal Tuesday- Kiske & Sommerville – Run With A Dream
This week’s comes from an album composed as a compliment to the old MMO “City of Heroes.†Man, I miss that game.
Concerting on the other side of 40
I’ve noticed two big differences in how I approach concerts than I did when I was younger.
- I no longer feel the need or desire to be in the crush around the stage. Hell, I’m willing to pay a bit extra to get seats away from the floor.
- Ear pro. I remember boasting of being slightly deaf to my dad after he picked me up from a Faith No More concert. I was stupid back then.
I’m sure there are more, but those were the two that stuck out at me.
