A teenager attacked an elementary school and killed a teacher and 3 students as well as injuring two more children. Fortunately, an armed citizen stopped the asshole permanently.
The ATF has said that it’s now perfectly okay for dealers to sell silencers, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns on a 4473. It looks like only full-autos still need to go through them. ATF is still going to process the Form 4’s for those states whose laws require ATF approval to own NFA items.
Which is good, because Florida’s attorney general says that we aren’t one of those states. This means when Derek gets his new carry pistol, I’m going to make sure it has a threaded barrel. Also wonder if the MP5SD is going to make its new debut at SHOT.
Other big news is Ruger shutting down almost their entire product line. “Effective immediately, Ruger is ceasing production of its LCR, SP101, GP100 and Bearcat revolvers. The company plans to complete its final production runs of the following models for 2026: SR1911, LC Carbine, PC Charger, PC Carbine, LC Charger, Redhawk, Super Redhawk, Blackhawk, Super Blackhawk, Single-Series revolvers, Vaquero, No. 1, 77-Series rifles, Hawkeye and Ruger Precision Rifle.” A lot of folks are blaming Beretta’s influence with their new stake in Ruger. Others are speculating that this is being done to shift production to a more gun and manufacturing friendly state. I hope it’s the latter, because there are some guns on that list that I need to check off for my collection.
For my Tampa readers, Joe Redner passed away over the weekend. He was a “colorful” character in Tampa and one of those responsible for Tampa’s reputation as a strip club destination. He was also an activist and a pain in the butt for various groups. Like I said, a character.
