One has to appreciate both the Vader-esque, pummeling death metal when it is executed so well as well as the frankly exquisite aesthetic presentation of Japan’s 兀突骨(Gotsu Totsu Kotsu).

I had never heard about them until late last year but they’ve been around since 2000. I consider this a minor failing on my part, though having listened to their early albums, I think they really picked it up about halfway through their discography.

But still, I think they are a worthwhile band to give a listen to if you are into death metal at all, just to hear a different take on OSDM (old school death metal) from another hemisphere.
