As I mentioned before, I’m looking into switching up my main sidearm. I want something that will take a red dot. I could just get a milled slide for my current pistol – which would probably be the cheapest option.

Except.. New pistol would allow me some new options.

First, S&W recently came out with a new trigger on their M&P lines which has me intrigued. S&W would make the most sense as I have magazines and magazines and a carbine that takes M&P magazines. Except, the only M&Ps that will take the Aimpoint Acro or Aimpoint COA are right now LE only. Or I can find them with the all metal M&P’s. Not what I’d call good options.

Heckler & Koch’s VP9A1 would be expensive, need more magazines, and an adapter plate – but I really like the VP9A1. Plus, I’m a sucker for a paddle mag release.

Then Sig entered the chat with their new P385.

Still have to get adapters for my chosen red dot, because I don’t trust Sig optics. Still, it’s tempting.

At any rate, right now I need to save up the cash for any of my chosen options. Plus, I also need to save up the cash for a red dot class because from what I hear, red dots are good, but they take some different learnin’ than old iron sights. I’ve been playing with some red dot optics on my airsofts, and I can see the issue of “chasing the dot.”
